In short
We collect what Engine Pulse needs to analyze your engine and keep your data in sync, and we use it only to run the service. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data. You can delete your account and its cloud data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
We collect only what you give us or what the app needs to work:
| Data | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | The address on your account. With Sign in with Apple, this may be an Apple private relay address. | You, when you create an account |
| Name | The name you enter, or the one Apple shares if you choose to share it. | You |
| Aircraft profile | Tail number, make and model, engine, avionics, and the limits read from your POH and supplements. | You and your uploaded documents |
| Flight logs | The engine data log files from your avionics, and the flights, findings, reviews and event markers created from them. | Your uploads |
| Uploaded documents | Your POH/AFM, supplements, logbook entries, oil-analysis reports, manuals and anything else you choose to upload. | Your uploads |
| Beta sign-up details | If you sign up on this website: your tail number, aircraft, avionics, the devices you'll use, and when you accepted the Terms and this policy. | You, on the sign-up page |
| Maintenance records | Service history, reminders and oil changes you record in the app. | You |
Engine data logs can include position, altitude and time. Engine Pulse uses them for engine analysis; we don't build a location history of you or share your flights with anyone.
We don't use advertising identifiers, analytics or tracking tools in the app or on this website, and this website doesn't set tracking cookies. The upload page stores your sign-in session in your browser so you stay signed in.
How we use it
We use your data only to run Engine Pulse for you:
- to sign you in and keep your account secure;
- to analyze your flights against your aircraft's limits and its own history;
- to keep your flights, profile, maintenance and documents in sync across your devices;
- to send emails you need, such as confirmation codes and password resets; and
- to answer you when you contact support.
We don't sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to profile you. We won't share it with anyone else unless you ask us to, or unless the law requires it.
When the app checks for airworthiness directives, it sends your aircraft, engine and propeller model to the public Federal Register API. It doesn't send your name, email or tail number.
Where it's stored
We use a small number of service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What it does | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and private file storage, hosted in the US (West, Oregon). Row-level security means each account can read only its own rows and files. | Your account, aircraft profile, flights, maintenance and uploaded files |
| Netlify | Hosts this website. | Standard web request data, such as IP address and browser, in Netlify's server logs |
| Google Fonts | Serves the fonts this website uses. | Your IP address and browser, when your browser downloads the fonts |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, TestFlight and, after launch, App Store subscriptions. | See Sign in with Apple and Payments |
| Email sender (Resend or Brevo) | Sends account emails such as confirmation codes and password resets. We're setting this up now and will name the provider here once it's live. | Your email address and the message |
Sign in with Apple
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple confirms who you are and shares a unique identifier with us, plus your name and email if you choose to share them. If you hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address that forwards to you. We never see your Apple ID password.
Payments
Engine Pulse is free during the beta. After the App Store launch, subscriptions are billed by Apple. Apple handles your payment details; we receive only whether your subscription is active. This website doesn't take payments.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data until you delete your account. To delete it, open the app, go to ACCOUNT and choose Delete account. This removes your account and its cloud data: your profile, flights, maintenance records and uploaded files.
Copies on your own devices stay there until you delete the app. Our providers may keep encrypted backups for a short time before they are overwritten.
If you can't get into the app, email sales@enginepulse.net from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Files are kept in private storage, and row-level security limits every database read and write to the account that owns it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your devices locked.
Children
Engine Pulse isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- See or correct your data: most of it is visible and editable in the app. Locked aircraft limits can be changed through support.
- Get a copy: email us and we'll send you a copy of the data we hold for your account.
- Delete: use Delete account in the app, or email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. Contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
