Contact us
sales@enginepulse.netWe usually reply within one business day (Arizona time). To help us answer quickly, include your tail number, your device (iPad or iPhone), the app version from the ACCOUNT screen, and a screenshot if something looks wrong.
Getting started
- Install the app. During the beta, open the TestFlight invitation we email you on your iPad or iPhone. After launch, Engine Pulse will be on the App Store.
- Create your account on the sign-up page or in the app, with your email and a password. In the app you can also use Sign in with Apple.
- Register your aircraft: tail number, aircraft and avionics.
- Upload your POH / AFM as one PDF, including the Section 9 supplements. The app reads your engine limits from it, cross-checks any supplement, and then locks the profile.
- Upload your engine logs. The last 20 or more flights give the best baseline. Each log becomes a flight with its own report.
- Check HOME for your engine health score, the last flight and the early-warning panel. The getting-set-up checklist there shows anything still missing.
Uploading data
From a computer
- Go to the upload page and sign in with the same email and password you use in the app.
- Drop files on the matching checklist item, or click it to choose files. Engine log CSV files become flights; PDFs and photos are kept with your aircraft.
- Open the app. It brings in waiting uploads when it opens.
In the app, Email me an upload link sends the upload page to your inbox so you can open it on a computer.
Signed up with Apple? The website needs a password. On the upload page, choose Forgot password? with the email Apple shared, and set one.
From your iPad or iPhone
- Files: import logs and documents from the Files app.
- AirDrop: send files from a Mac and choose Engine Pulse.
- Open in Engine Pulse: use the share sheet in another app, such as Mail.
Where to find your engine logs
On Garmin Perspective, Perspective+, G1000 and G1000 NXi, the CSV logs are written to the SD card in the MFD (usually the top slot), in the data_log folder. Copy the files to a computer or your iPad with a card reader.
Sync across devices
Sign in with the same account on each device. Flights, your aircraft profile, maintenance records, reviews and event markers sync between your iPad and iPhone.
- Make sure each device is online and signed in to the same account. A Sign in with Apple account and an email account are separate accounts, even with the same email address.
- Open the app on the device that's behind. It catches up when it opens.
- Still missing something? Email us with what's missing and on which device.
Confirmation code not arriving
When you create an account with email, we send a 6-digit code to confirm the address.
- Wait a minute or two, then check your spam, junk and promotions folders.
- Check the address for typos.
- Request a new code from the app, and use the most recent one.
- If it still doesn't come, email us from that address and we'll confirm the account for you.
Changing a locked profile
Once your aircraft's limits are read from your POH and checked against your supplements, the profile locks so the numbers every flight is checked against can't change by accident.
To change something, such as after an engine change or a new STC, email us with:
- your tail number;
- what needs to change and why; and
- the supporting document (for example the new supplement or the logbook entry), or upload it in the app first.
We'll send you a support code that unlocks the profile so the change can be made.
Deleting your account
In the app, open ACCOUNT and choose Delete account. This deletes your account and its cloud data: your profile, flights, maintenance records and uploaded files. It can't be undone.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel that separately (see below). If you can't get into the app, email us from your account's address and we'll delete it for you.
Cancelling a subscription
Engine Pulse is free during the beta. After the App Store launch, subscriptions are billed by Apple ($14.99 a month after a 15-day free trial). To cancel:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
- Tap your name (Apple ID), then Subscriptions.
- Choose Engine Pulse and tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
